Anthony and I met on a dating app. Our first date was at The Village Baker in Spring Lake. We shared a pineapple pizza as we got to know each other. After dinner, Tony invited me to go for a ride in his Corvette. Thinking this would surely swoon me. As someone who does not appreciate cars I was not impressed with its low seats and uncomfortable arm rests. Tony took off like a bat out of hell and I proceeded to tell him that this is like riding a roller coaster. We ended the date by exchanging numbers, both hoping to see the other again.
It was a beautiful winter afternoon, only days after Christmas. As Aylissa finished her scavenger hunt clues she had at last been directed to the golf green in the back woods to receive her "forgotten Christmas present." Anthony dropped to one knee to offer the ring he'd been hiding for months...
Or, that's how it was planned. But then, how much really ever goes as planned? Aylissa left late that morning with her family to see a new movie, and Anthony did seize the opportunity to set up the scavenger hunt. But when Aylissa returned... seven hours later... it was dark, rainy, and miserable outside. As she pressed on solving each clue it was apparent things weren't going to be particularly picturesque.
Trudging through the mud with umbrellas and boots, she did find the "missing present," but opening it up in the pole barn was the more sensible choice. And it was there that she was distracted with unwrapping custom POP! vinyls just long enough for Anthony to manage the surprise he'd been planning.
...she said YES.
